This piece was produced by hand by the artist themself. It was made during the Bay Area's golden era of graffiti...mid to late 90's thru the early 2000's. This particular sticker was made in 2002. It was truly an amazing time for street art and graffiti in the bay. Twist, Giant, Dream, Bigfoot, Maseo, ORFN (RIP), MQ, TIE (RIP), Mr. Element, Bode, Vegan, and Norm were just a few of the other graff legends the bay produced during that time period. Some of those artist's pieces are now hung in some of the world's finest museums and galleries, and the price tag for their work rises to the tens of thousands. Now, here's your chance to own an ORIGINAL piece of graff art history by one of SF's finest. I know it is original and made by the artist because it was given to me by the artist at an art show I curated, in SF's Mission District, that PEZ participated in with a handful of other street art / graff writers. However, Pez wasn't merely confined to SF, his tag is well-known by the graff scene worldwide. The image of a MAD MAX is screen printed on a USPS sticker (a favorite medium amongst taggers and street artists). This sticker is in excellent condition and has never been peeled off its original backing. When art historians of the future look back on this controversial art movement and a handful of names will be noted to represent their city...PEZ is one of those names for San Francisco. The size of this piece is 6" x 4". It looks great framed and hung on your wall or displayed on a shelf. I have many stickers and smaller pieces by a handful of different artist and they look fantastic on display. Plus, they're a great conversation piece, sure to spark the interest of any street art fan. Obtain artwork by your favorite graffiti artist is often a difficult task, because for graff artists the world is their canvas.
