RUTHLESS A Memoir by Jerry Heller (W/ Gil Reavill)

- SIGNED -

Worth reading the inscription Jerry wrote, especially since the bio pic on the inside back cover is of Jerry and his wife!  Super sleazy, classy, talent agent... but then again, aren't they all?

Hardcover / 1st Printing

For those who don't know... Jerry Heller (now deceased from a car accident in 2016 at age 76) was the music industry talent agent that brought Eazy E and NWA to the forefront of the hip hop / rap music scene and helped them create the rap sub-genre, gangsta rap.  He had the foresight and vision, to make mountains of cash by glamorizing gang lifestyle (during the height of LA's gang culture, when the Bloods and Crips had become household names).  Exploiting the struggles of inner city's black youth (like police brutality, the crack epidemic and the drug dealer lifestyle, pimping and general objectification of women, violence like carjackings and home invasions, and pretty much anything stereotypically associated with the harsh realities of "hood" struggles and the gangsta lifestyle. As terrible as some people may think this type of existence may be for someone, he realized that a large number of people could identify with it and actually wanted to hear more about these types of things that they were familiar with and experienced first hand on a daily basis.  Love him or hate him, you have to give it up to Jerry, he definitely knew what people wanted to hear and how to get them what they wanted hear.

Condition: Dust jacket & book are both in VG (VERY GOOD) condition.  No major problems with either, just little natural wear.  Nothing that compromises the book's integrity.  Really a very nice, SIGNED, copy!

Highly collectible and very RARE with this particularly hilarious inscription.  Don't miss your chance to be the owner of this amazing piece of music history.
