"Chip & Dale" Pillow by KAWS

1 of 2 pillows in the series. This pillow was originally purchased in 2003 at Red-Five boutique (street art & DJ culture) on Haight St. in San Francisco, Ca. This item is 100% legit and absolutely original. Very limited edition of 350 of these pillows were offered. KAWS used imagery of chipmunks to represent Disney's Chip & Dale. I've only ever seen one other posting anywhere for these, that sale was for both pillows. Unfortunately, when i purchased mine this was the only design that was available. When these hit stores KAWS was widely known in the underground graffiti scene but hadn't yet broke into the mainstream. He had only put out a couple KidRobot vinyl toys when he made these pillows. I'm not sure if "Chip & Dale" were licensed from Disney or if they had him design these. Since so few were made and his popularity was minimal there isn't much info out regarding these. So few were made and most were probably used as throw pillows and eventually destroyed. This particular example was stored away, in a dry and moth free environment. It has only recently been brought out to see the light of day. This is the Holy Grail of KAWS pieces. So extremely RARE, these almost never get put on the collectors market for purchase. KAWS is now known worldwide and his newer pillows, prints, and toys fetch a hefty premium. This is almost sure to continue gaining value over the years. This may be your only chance to purchase this item. I can't stress the rarity enough. Don't sleep on this one or you'll be sorry you missed out.
